Browsholme Hall
Wedding Videographer
Documentary films at Browsholme Hall, Clitheroe, in the Ribble Valley.
Few venues give you this much room to work with.
Browsholme Hall sits at Cow Ark, just outside Clitheroe, in the Forest of Bowland on the edge of the Ribble Valley. The first thing that strikes you is the sheer space. Acres of grounds, long open views in every direction, and far more opportunities for a film than most venues can offer. As a filmmaker that gives me a lot to work with, and it means no two weddings here ever look quite the same.
Browsholme is a large estate, yet it has been laid out so it never feels like one. There are four different places to hold your ceremony, and each one has been designed to feel close and intimate rather than lost in the grounds. Wherever you choose to say your vows, it feels personal and contained, which is a hard balance for a venue this size to strike.
The morning prep splits across two of the estate's own properties, and it works beautifully on film. Xana and her bridesmaids got ready in Mews Cottage, which sits on site and makes an ideal base for the morning, while Adam and his groomsmen got ready at Shepherd's Cottage, another Browsholme property about a five minute drive away. Two different settings, both relaxed, both easy to film in.
The gardens are kept immaculately, and they are a real gift when it comes to portraits. On the day we made the most of them by taking the golf buggy out through the grounds, the woodland and the wider views, finding the best of the light as we went. Few venues let you cover this much ground or offer this many different looks within the same estate.
A quick bit about me before I disappear behind the camera. I'm Terry, the filmmaker behind Capture That Films, based in Preston with the Ribble Valley practically on my doorstep. The Hitched Wedding Award in 2024 and a North West Wedding Awards nomination in 2026 are nice to have, but what matters more on the day is the way I work. Documentary throughout. No staging, no asking you to repeat a moment for the camera. Just paying attention to what is actually happening.
If you are planning a wedding at Browsholme Hall and you want a filmmaker who will film it honestly and make the most of everything the estate gives you, drop me a message and let's talk about your day.
A Browsholme Hall wedding I’ve filmed
Xana & Adam
Browsholme Hall, Cow Ark, Clitheroe
Xana and Adam married on one of the hottest days of the year. Xana had lost her voice in the run up to the wedding, and rather than pretend otherwise we leaned into it and made it part of the film. I did that partly because it was real and it was their day exactly as it happened, and partly for a reason that will only land later. When family and friends who were not there watch the film back and notice how low and hard to hear her voice is, it will make complete sense to them.
During the portraits, the dog managed to fall straight into the lily pond. What made it funnier was that only moments earlier Lou, the photographer, and I had been joking about which of us would be first to end up in the water. Neither of us had imagined the answer would turn out to be the dog. That is exactly the sort of thing you cannot plan for, and it is why I film the day as it unfolds rather than staging it.
Filmed at Browsholme Hall, Cow Ark, Clitheroe. Also a regular at Eaves Hall, the Shireburn Arms and other Ribble Valley venues across Lancashire.
