Shireburn Arms Wedding Videographer | Capture That Films

Shireburn Arms
Wedding Videographer

Documentary films at the Shireburn Arms, Hurst Green, Clitheroe.

This is where my wedding career began.

The Shireburn Arms sits in Hurst Green, a small village just outside Clitheroe on the edge of the Ribble Valley. It's the kind of venue that feels tucked away from everything, in the best possible sense. Stone walls, low ceilings, real fires, and grounds that open out onto open countryside. It's been one of my favourite places to film for a long time.

There's a reason for that beyond just how it looks. This is where my wedding career started. The first wedding I ever filmed was at the Shireburn Arms, so every couple I film here after that carries a kind of quiet significance for me. I know the building, I know how the light moves through it at different points in the day, and I know where the day tends to go. That familiarity counts for more than most couples realise before the wedding, and they tend to notice it once they watch the film back.

The venue also gives couples something a lot of locations don't: genuine choice when it comes to portraits. The gardens are right there and immediately beautiful. Head around to the rear of the building and you're standing at the edge of vast open countryside fields, nothing but sky and farmland in every direction. Then there's the country lane just next door, quiet and tucked away, where the light, when the timing is right, hits in a way that's hard to plan and impossible to fake. Three completely different looks within a few minutes' walk of each other. I know exactly when to use each one.

Couples who choose the Shireburn Arms tend to want something personal and unhurried. A day that feels genuinely theirs rather than a production. That fits exactly how I work.

If you're planning a wedding at the Shireburn Arms and you want a filmmaker who already knows the venue well, drop me a message and let's talk about your day.

A Shireburn Arms wedding I’ve filmed

Lauren & Tom

The Shireburn Arms, Hurst Green, Clitheroe

Lauren and Tom's brief was as relaxed as the day itself. "We'll just leave you to it. We love your films." It was a hot, sunny afternoon, the kind of day where the grounds come alive and the light does half the work for you. Afternoon entertainment kept everything moving in that easy, unhurried way that suits the Shireburn Arms perfectly. No staged shots, no direction from me. Just their day, exactly as it unfolded.

During the ceremony, their daughter delivered a custom reading she'd written herself. Halfway through, she broke down. Half the room went with her. I had a tear behind the camera. Then later, during the speeches, their son stood up and stopped the room all over again. Two completely different moments, hours apart. Both of them the kind you can't plan for and can't fake. Both of them in the film.

What Lauren & Tom said

★★★★★

We were very reluctant about booking a videographer as me and my husband are really awkward in front of the camera and thought it might be a total nightmare. I am so glad we found Terry. The communication from the start was brilliant. We had a phone call before the wedding where Terry took the time to get to know what was important to us and what we wanted in our video. On the day of the wedding, in the best possible way, we hardly noticed Terry there. He managed to capture our day and all the memories without imposing or making it feel staged. He just made us so comfortable and at ease. He was always just in the right place at the right time. He captured memories that will last us a lifetime and we are so grateful for that. The video Terry created is beautiful. It made us cry watching it and everything we wanted was there for us to rewatch for many years to come. We’ve watched it more times than I can count. It’s just perfect. We are absolutely obsessed with the video and can’t thank you enough Terry for making something that could have been our worst nightmare a really fun experience with an end product that perfectly sums us up as a couple.
