Lake District Wedding

Wedding films at venues across the Lakes and Cumbria.
Getting married in the Lake District?
The Lake District is one of those places where the venue is half the wedding. Lakes, fells, dry stone walls, sky that changes hour by hour. Whether you’re saying your vows at the edge of a tarn, in a country house overlooking the fells, or in a converted barn at the eastern edge of Cumbria, this corner of the country gives a wedding day a feel you can’t manufacture anywhere else.
I’m Terry, the filmmaker behind Capture That Films. I’m based in Preston so the Lake District is well within reach, and it’s a part of the country I love working in. Smaller numbers, outdoor focus, weather that’s part of the story rather than a problem to manage. Lake District couples tend to know what they want, and what they want is usually exactly what suits my documentary style.
My approach throughout is the same: no staged shots, no posing, no asking you to repeat anything for the camera. I show up, blend in, and film the day as it actually happens. The Lake District does the rest.

Blea Tarn
Langdale · Lake District
Blea Tarn sits in the Langdale valley, hemmed in by the Langdale Pikes on one side and Lingmoor Fell on the other. Outdoor ceremonies happen at the tarn itself with the fells doing all the heavy lifting in the background. It’s a setting that takes nothing away from the couple and gives the film a quality that’s hard to plan for. The day is small, intimate, and entirely tied to the landscape around it.

Little Musgrave · Cumbria
Eden Barn sits in Little Musgrave in Cumbria’s Upper Eden Valley, with the Lake District over one shoulder and the Yorkshire Dales the other. A two hundred year old Westmorland stone barn run by the Harker family, exclusive use of the site, a hundred acres of grounds, and a portrait spot opposite the entrance that’s hard to find anywhere else.
