Getting married in Lancashire?

Lancashire has some of the best wedding venues in the country, and I get to film in them for a living. Country houses tucked into the Ribble Valley, working farms turned into wedding venues, coastal hotels, converted barns, pubs with rooms that feel a world away from anywhere. Whatever kind of day you're planning, there's a venue in this county that fits it.

I'm Terry, the filmmaker behind Capture That Films. I'm based in Preston so most of Lancashire is within easy reach, which means I'm at the venue early, set up properly, and ready for the day to start naturally rather than rushing in last minute. I've been back to some of these venues so often that I know the building before you've even arrived. I know where the morning light falls, where the speeches sound best, and where the portraits work without anyone feeling watched.

My approach is documentary throughout. No staged moments, no posing, no asking you to do anything you wouldn't naturally do. I show up, blend in, and film the day as it actually happens. The bits couples remember years later are almost always the small unplanned ones, and those are the bits that make a film worth watching back.

Lancashire wedding venues I’ve filmed at

A handful of Lancashire venues I film at regularly. Click any with a dedicated page to watch films from recent weddings.

The Shireburn Arms

Hurst Green · Ribble Valley

The Shireburn Arms in Hurst Green was the first venue I ever filmed at, so it sits a little differently with me than the others. Stone walls, low ceilings, real fires inside, and beyond the back of the building, open Ribble Valley countryside in every direction. A country pub with rooms that doesn’t try to be anything more than it is, which is exactly why couples who choose it tend to want a relaxed, genuinely personal day.

Eaves Hall

Clitheroe · Ribble Valley

Eaves Hall is one of Lancashire’s most generous wedding venues. Exclusive use of the whole place for the day, a grand interior that opens out onto countryside in every direction, and enough room for portraits, ceremony and reception to all feel unhurried. I’ve filmed here several times now and it’s a venue where the day just breathes.

Ribby Hall Village

Wrea Green · Lancashire

Ribby Hall sits in Wrea Green between Preston and Blackpool. The wedding venue is part of a larger spa resort, which sounds like it shouldn’t work but does. Couples get the luxury hotel feel without the formality, manicured grounds, and the option for guests to stay over so everyone’s in one place. Jody and Harry got married here and the day flowed easily because everything was on site.

Wyresdale Park

Scorton · Lancashire

Wyresdale Park sits in countryside near Garstang, an outdoor wedding venue where days are typically held under tipis or sail cloth marquees. Charlotte and Isaac got married here in golden hour light that I won’t forget in a hurry. The setting gives you space, fresh air, and the kind of day where guests really feel like they’ve gone somewhere for the wedding.

The Wellbeing Farm

Edgworth · Lancashire

The Wellbeing Farm in Edgworth is a working farm turned wedding venue, and it’s the kind of place that makes couples relax instantly. Rustic barns, open views over the West Pennine Moors, and yes, the famous llamas roaming around. A venue that suits couples wanting their day to feel genuinely personal rather than polished.

The Tipis at Riley Green

Hoghton · Lancashire

The Tipis at Riley Green sits in woodland just outside Hoghton, south of Preston. Three large tipis joined together in a clearing, fire pits, fairy lights through the trees, and a setting that turns the whole day into something more festival than wedding. Couples who choose Riley Green tend to want their day properly outdoors, with the kind of relaxed atmosphere the venue makes effortless.

What Lauren & Tom said

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

We were really reluctant about booking a videographer. We thought it might be a total nightmare. On the day, in the best possible way, we hardly noticed Terry there. He captured our day and all the memories without imposing or making it feel staged. We’ve watched the film more times than I can count. It’s just perfect.
