Colshaw Hall sits in the Cheshire countryside, set within its own private grounds. It's one of those venues that runs like clockwork from the moment you arrive. Finished to a standard that doesn't need anything dressing up, and built around exactly how a wedding day actually flows. Cheshire has plenty of beautiful venues, but Colshaw Hall is one of the most complete I've filmed at.

From a filmmaker's perspective, what makes Colshaw Hall so easy to work in is that everything is already where it needs to be. The house itself is yours for the day, a proper base to get ready in, with a den area that has table tennis, a bar, wide screens and a private space to settle in away from the rest of the venue. The gardens are vast, and the portrait options feel endless. The outdoor garden area is perfect for the drinks reception, the ceremony room and the main room are both close by, and the whole venue is connected in a way that means no one is wandering between buildings or feeling lost. It's a huge estate that never feels stretched.
