Documentary films at Eaves Hall, Clitheroe, Lancashire.

A venue I know inside out.

Eaves Hall sits just outside Clitheroe, on the edge of the Ribble Valley. From a filmmaker's perspective, it's one of the most generous venues in Lancashire. The light, the grounds, the architecture inside, and the sheer amount of space the venue gives you. There aren't many places where you can move from a grand interior to wide open countryside without anyone having to go anywhere.

I've been back here often enough to know it properly now. The staircase descent before the ceremony is one of the most naturally cinematic moments you'll find at any venue in the North West. It happens without any direction from me, it always delivers, and I make sure I'm in exactly the right position when it does. The grounds give plenty of room for portraits with no one feeling watched or rushed. The whole venue is exclusive use too, which changes the atmosphere completely. No other events, no other guests. Everyone there is there for you. Couples settle in faster, the energy builds properly, and by the time you reach the speeches and the dance floor, the room is fully in it.

I'm Terry, the filmmaker behind Capture That Films. In 2024 I picked up the Hitched Wedding Award, and in 2025 I was nominated for the North West Wedding Awards. I film documentary style throughout: no staged moments, nothing repeated for the camera, and nothing set up to look a certain way. I stay close enough to catch everything and far enough back that most guests never really notice I'm there.

An Eaves Hall wedding I’ve filmed

Lewis & Abi

Eaves Hall, Clitheroe, Lancashire

Lewis and Abi got married at Eaves Hall in December 2025. From the moment I arrived, the energy was something else. A huge bridal party full of love, activities and entertainment running from early in the afternoon, the whole day alive and moving from start to finish. Then the weather turned. Heavy rain, the kind that could have shifted the atmosphere completely. It didn't. Lewis and Abi had decided they were going to embrace whatever came, and they did exactly that. It made for a better film.

The grounds at Eaves Hall gave us more variety in portraits than most weddings manage. Even in the rain there were spots tucked away, different backdrops, different light. We never felt like we were making the best of a bad situation. It genuinely looked incredible.

Just before the ceremony, on the grand staircase with the natural light pouring in around them, Abi's father gave her a gift. I've filmed a lot of weddings, and what passed between them in that moment is genuinely one of the most emotional and personal things I've ever had the privilege of being there for. I'm glad I was close enough to catch it.

What Lewis said

★★★★★

From the moment we booked Terry we felt at complete and utter ease. He did what most other companies don’t do: he listened. He listened to exactly what we wanted from a videographer, and he delivered it and much more. We were literally blown away with the films we received. We came away from our wedding day with a lifetime full of memories, and because of Terry we now have all of them to rewatch over and over again. I booked Capture That Films as a surprise for my wife to be, so she was a little surprised when she had a man and a camera turn up as she started to get ready, but within minutes Terry made her feel at ease and got to work capturing moments we will cherish forever. Amazing company with an amazing bloke behind it all.
