Ribby Hall
Wedding Videographer
Documentary wedding films at Ribby Hall Village, Wrea Green, Lancashire.
Luxury without the stiffness.
Ribby Hall Village sits in Wrea Green between Preston and Blackpool in Lancashire. It's part of a larger spa and leisure resort, and what makes it work as a wedding venue is that none of that shows on the day. Couples get the feel of a luxury hotel without the formal atmosphere that sometimes comes with one. Everyone can stay on site, everything is close together, and the whole day tends to settle into a natural rhythm early.
The Lakeside View Apartments are something I didn't fully appreciate until I filmed there. They're stunning — modern, spacious, and looking straight out over the lake. The natural light coming in from that aspect during the morning prep is genuinely beautiful. It's one of those things that makes the footage look a cut above before the day has even properly started. The views from the balcony across the grounds only add to it.
If you're getting married at Ribby Hall and you want a filmmaker who knows the venue and what it offers, drop me a message and let's talk about your day.
A Ribby Hall wedding I’ve filmed
Jody & Harry
Ribby Hall Village, Wrea Green, Lancashire
A few weeks before the wedding I drove over to Jody and Harry's house, we had a coffee and they talked me through the day. It felt relaxed from the start. The weather on the day was as good as it gets, and the views from the Ribby Hall balcony did exactly what they'd promised.
I opened the film with the father of the bride's speech. He talked about Jody with so much warmth that the room was already quietly emotional, and then he landed a perfectly timed line about Harry that turned the whole thing on its head. The father and daughter dance followed, and I kept it in natural audio throughout. The music, the room, the atmosphere exactly as it was. If you want to understand why that choice matters in a wedding film, read more about why audio matters in a wedding film.
Then Jody and Harry's son stood up to give his speech. I've filmed a lot of weddings and a lot of speeches. This one stopped me behind the camera. It was full of love, full of humour, full of his own personality coming through in every line. The kind of thing that only works because it came from him and nobody else. During the portraits we had a genuine laugh, so much so that I ended the film with an outtake of me, the photographer, Jody and Harry all falling apart laughing together. It felt like the right note to finish on.
I still speak with Jody and Harry. They came to another wedding I was filming and recommended me to the couple. That kind of thing means more than any review.
What Jody & Harry said
We met with Terry a few weeks before the wedding and just loved his warm, friendly personality. It was more like having a friend round for a brew, which is exactly what we wanted. On the day, he was so helpful, reassuring and got on so well with all of the wedding party. He just blended in to the day and we had so many laughs along the way. When the videos came through, we were absolutely obsessed. The clarity and sound on the videos were utter perfection and we have watched them at least 273889 times so far 😂 The feature film really was everything I imagined it would be and more. A true gent with a hilarious sense of humour and fun vibes all round.
