Getting married in the Ribble Valley?

The Ribble Valley is one of those parts of Lancashire that reminds you why this job is worth doing. Rolling countryside, stone-built venues, open views in every direction. I’ve filmed at Eaves Hall with its grounds that stretch as far as you can see, the Shireburn Arms sitting above Hurst Green where my career started, and The Hidden Oaks tucked into the trees near Clitheroe. Different venues, different feels, all with genuine character.

I’m Terry, the filmmaker behind Capture That Films. Based in Preston, the Ribble Valley is practically on my doorstep. I know the venues well, how the light moves through them at different times of day, and what they feel like early in the morning when the prep is just getting going. That familiarity makes more of a difference than most couples realise.

My approach is documentary throughout. No direction, no staging, nothing asked of you that you wouldn’t naturally do. I show up early, stay late, and film the day as it actually happens. The small, unplanned moments are almost always the ones worth keeping.

Ribble Valley wedding venues I’ve filmed at

A handful of Ribble Valley venues I film at regularly. Click any card to watch films from real weddings.

Eaves Hall

Clitheroe · Ribble Valley

Eaves Hall is one of Lancashire’s most generous wedding venues. Exclusive use of the whole estate, a grand interior that opens onto countryside, and enough room for portraits, ceremony and reception to all feel unhurried. Lewis and Abi’s day here was buzzing from the moment I arrived, and the moment just before the ceremony when Abi’s father gave her a gift is one I’ll always be glad I was there to film.

The Shireburn Arms

Hurst Green · Ribble Valley

The Shireburn Arms in Hurst Green was the first venue I ever filmed at, which means it sits a little differently with me than the others. Stone walls, low ceilings, real fires inside, and open Ribble Valley countryside beyond the back of the building. Lauren and Tom almost didn’t book a videographer. I’m glad they did.

The Hidden Oaks

Clitheroe · Ribble Valley

The Hidden Oaks is tucked into the trees near Clitheroe in a way that makes it feel genuinely removed from everything. Holly and Matt held the venue’s first ever outdoor ceremony on the hottest day of the year, without even planning to make history. The light that afternoon was something I won’t forget.

Browsholme Hall

Cow Ark, Clitheroe · Ribble Valley

Browsholme Hall is a large estate at Cow Ark near Clitheroe, with acres of grounds, woodland and four different ceremony settings, each laid out to feel close and intimate. Xana and Adam married here on one of the hottest days of the year. Between the manicured gardens and a golf buggy ride out to the views, there was no shortage of places to film.

What Lauren & Tom said

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

In the best possible way, we hardly noticed Terry there. He captured our day without imposing or making it feel staged. We’ve watched the film more times than I can count. It’s just perfect.
